Seasonal Wardrobe Changes

Switching over to your summer wardrobe

Now that the weather is getting warmer it's a good time to organise our wardrobes. Having my closet decluttered and organised not only helps me find an outfit more easily it also helps me to keep it tidy. If my wardrobe isn't brimming with clothes and I have a few spare hangers, I'm more likely to hang clothes up rather than throw them onto 'The Chair'. 

Using our 4 groups of categorising items, we can go through everything and start with the 'Keep' pile. These are clothes we love, wear, and whatever makes you feel great. 

Followed by 'Donate'. Let's select the items that we no longer wear, fit or serve us purpose. Donating is a good way to help others, whether it's by passing clothes onto friends or charities (if giving to charities, please ensure items are still in good condition and washed). We want to keep clothing out of landfills and repurposed as best possible!

Then we can 'Dispose'. This is obviously a last resort, but no one wants old holey socks and underwear!

Finally, we can 'Reallocate'. Go through items in your keep pile and put aside your winter clothes you won't wear over the next few months. Depending on your storage, you can fold them up and put them away, or what I did when I had very little space was seal them in vacuum-packed bags and put them into my suitcases. This makes an unused space useful!

Now our stuff is sorted and we have our summer clothes ready we can start with what I believe is the fun part: making it visually appealing. I love opening my closet and all my clothes being arranged by type. 

All my bottoms together, followed by dresses, long sleeves etc.
